Frank Connor quoted in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Cover Story

Barton Gilman’s co-managing partner, Francis A. Connor, III, was recently quoted by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in its cover story “Midsize firms luring ‘Big Law’ clients.”

The article highlights the growing number of corporate legal departments that are transitioning from big law firms, and big law firm rates, to mid-sized law firms for outside counsel. The primary benefit for clients in this case has been obtaining sophisticated legal counsel with lower rates or more alternative fee options.

“More information and transparency has allowed more clients to become very sophisticated consumers of legal services,” said Connor.

Connor is an experienced trial and appellate attorney whose expertise includes cases involving professional liability defense, business disputes, insurance and reinsurance issues. An increasing number of health care clients in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are calling upon Connor to defend them in disputes with state and federal authorities, as well as private health insurers, concerning licensure, regulatory matters and allegations of improper or fraudulent billing, in particular Medicare and Medicaid billing.

Connor also regularly serves as a mediator and arbitrator. He is an invited member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, has been recognized as a Rhode Island Super Lawyer since 2013, and maintains an AV Preeminent rating from the Martindale-Hubbell National Law Directory, the highest rating available for legal ability and ethical standards.
